Grade 5 - Division - Partial Quotients
Partial quotients is a division strategy that simplifies problems by breaking them into manageable parts, focusing on place value. Instead of using long division, students can quickly divide sections of the dividend that are easily divisible, allowing them to solve problems more efficiently. By dividing each section and then adding the results, students can arrive at the full quotient.
This method not only helps in solving problems faster but also allows students to clearly demonstrate their understanding of division and place value.
