Grade 3 - Division - Skip Counting with Remainder using Number Line
In this video, we'll explore using a number line to solve division problems by leveraging what students already know about multiplication and addition. By skip counting on a number line, students can visually see how many times a divisor fits into the dividend, making it easier to understand the division process.
We'll demonstrate how to make jumps of the divisor along the number line, get as close as possible to the dividend, and determine any remainder. This method builds on familiar strategies from earlier grades, helping students transition smoothly into division by connecting it with multiplication and addition.
